About the Speaker: Ambassador Piper Anne Wind Campbell has been the US Ambassador in Mongolia since August 2012.  Ambassador Campbell is a career diplomat who before being appointed to her post in Mongolia, served in Iraq, Philippines, Belgium, and Croatia. She was the Chief of Staff to Deputy Secretary of State and served as a Deputy Chief of Mission in Cambodia. Her experience also includes service in the State Department's Operation Center and the Bureau of International Organization Affairs as well as the civil affairs section of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. She also worked on international security and humanitarian issues at the U.S. Missions to the United Nations – in New York and Geneva.

A native of Buffalo, New York and resident of Washington DC, Ms. Campbell holds a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a Master's degree from the Harvard Kennedy School. She has one daughter, Maya.

The Lecture Series organized under auspices of the “The Nurturing Alumni Through Substantive Engagement” project funded by the US Embassy in Mongolia, with themes in democracy and human rights, business and corporate social responsibility, and health and the environment.
